And they fed the guest fresh meat.
Wọ́n sì ń fún àlejò ní ẹran tuntun.
No neighbor of theirs slept hungry.
Kò sí aládùúgbò wọn tó sùn láìjẹun.
Nor did anyone in fear say they were in distress.
Tabi ẹni tí ó bẹ̀rù sọ pé wọ́n wà nínú ìpọnjú.
Their generosity dried up the misfortunes.
Ìfẹ́ wọn ti gbẹ́ àwọn ìbànújẹ́.
Seas of generosity that we never thought would dry up.
Òkun ìfẹ́ tí a kò rò pé yóò gbẹ́.
And they were buried in the depths of the earth.
Wọ́n sì sin wọn nínú ìgbó ilẹ̀.
Lions of protection and healers of the sick.
Àwọn kìnnìún ààbò àti àwọn tó ń ṣe iwòsàn fún aláìsàn.
My burden after the burdens of the mounts, is now my back.
Ẹrù mi lẹ́yìn ẹrù àwọn ẹranko, tí wá di ẹyin mi.
And my home, after been in the heights, is now in the depths.
Ati ilé mi, lẹ́yìn gíga, tí wà ni ìsàlẹ̀.
And my chicks complain every day.
Ati pé àwọn ọmọ ẹyẹ mi ń kẹ́dùn ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
