الْمَقَامَةُ الْبَغْدَادِيَّةُ

Misery for him every day and night.

Ìbànújẹ́ fún un ní gbogbo ọjọ́ àti òru.

When the devout calls upon his Lord at night.

Nigba tí ẹni tí ó ń sin Ọlọ́run bá pè Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ ní òru.

They call upon Him with flowing tears.

Wọ́n ń pè é pẹ̀lú omijé tó ń ṣàn.

O Provider of the raven in its nest.

Ìwọ Olùpèsè fún ẹyẹ ìwò nínú ilé rẹ̀.

And Healer of the broken and shattered bone.

Ati Olùwòsàn fún egungun tí ó ti fọ́ àti tí ó ti já.

Grant us, O Allah, from His bounty.

Fun wa, Ọlọ́run, láti inú ìbùkún rẹ̀.

Pure and free from the stain of blame.

Tí ó mọ́ àti tí kò ní àbùkù.

Extinguish the fire of hunger from us.

Pa iná ebi nínú wa.

Even with a sip of buttermilk or whey.

Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pẹ̀lú ìtọ́wo omi mílíkì tàbí wàrà

Is there a young man who will relieve their distress?

Ṣé ó sí omokùnrin kan tó máa yọ wọn nínú ìpọnjú wọn?
