So the governor came, spreading his ears.
Nítorí náà, alákòóso náà wá, tí ó ń gbé etí rẹ̀ kalẹ̀.
And I revealed to him what I had kept secret.
Mo sọ fún un ohun tí mo ti fi pamọ́.
And nothing surprised me except his ears flowing towards me.
Kò sí ohun tí ó yà mí lẹ́nu bí kò ṣe etí rẹ̀ tí ó ń sún mọ́ mi.
And his servants rushing towards me.
Ati àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ tí ó ń sún mọ́ mi.
He offered me his unique pearl.
Ó fún mi ní wúrà rẹ̀ alaṣayan.
So that I could determine its value.
Kí n lè pinnu iye rẹ̀.
So worry overwhelmed me.
Nítorí náà, àníyàn gbé mi mì.
Like what overwhelmed Pharaoh and his soldiers from the sea.
Bí ohun tí ó gbé Fáráò àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ mì láti inú òkun.
And I kept defending it, but defense was useless.
Mo ń tẹ̀síwájú láti dáàbò bo ó, ṣùgbọ́n ààbò kò wúlò.
And I sought intercession, but it was of no use.
Mo wá àdúrà, ṣùgbọ́n kò wúlò.
