الْمَقَامَةُ السنجارية

And a beautiful sight was revealed.

àwòrán ẹlẹ́wà kan sì farahàn

And fragrant of the breeze

Àti òórùn afẹ́fẹ́

When pleaaures flared up in his presence.

Nígbà tí ìgbádùn ti gbóná níwájú rẹ̀.

And the tongues longed for his news,

Àti pé awon ahọ̀n náà ń fẹ́ tọ ìròyìn rẹ̀ wo,

And raids were about to be launched on his group.

Àti pé wọ́n fẹrẹ́ bẹ̀rẹ̀ ìkógun sí ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀.

And it was called out at his prohibition: Oh, for revenge!

O kigbé jáde nígbà tí o kọ fún: Ò ya o, fún ìgba esan!

Abu Zayd stood up like the one insane,

Baba Seidu dìde bí òní gangan gan-an

And he distanced himself like a lizard from a fish.

Ó sì yà ara rẹ̀ kúrò bí alangba kúrò lọwọ ẹja.

We persuaded him to return.

A gbìyànjú láti dá a lóhùn láti padà.

And not to be like Qudar in Thamud.
