الْمَقَامَةُ السنجارية

With the Yellow of the eye (Gold).

Pẹ̀lú pupa ojú (Goolu).

And the slanderer gained nothing but sin and disgrace.

Olubanijẹ náà kò rí nnkan kan bí kò ṣe èṣẹ àti ìtìjú.

So I vowed to Allah since that promise.

Nítorí náà, mo ṣe ìbúra fún Ọlọ́run láti ìgbà ìlérí yẹn.

That I would not associate with a slanderer thereafter.

Wí pé mi ò ní bá aláìmọ̀ràn kó jọ mọ́ lẹ́yìn náà.

And glass is known for these vile traits.

Ati pé gíláàsì ni a mọ̀ fún àwọn ìwà búburú wọ̀nyí.

And it is used as a proverb for slander.

Wọn si máa ń lo ó gẹ́gẹ́ bí àpẹẹrẹ fún ofoofo.

For my oath has flowed upon it.

Nítorí ìbúra mi ti sàn lórí rẹ̀.

And for that reason, my right hand did not extend to him:

Ati fún ìdí yẹn, ọwọ́ ọ̀tún mi kò tẹ̀ sí i:

So do not blame me after I have explained it.

Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe bá mi jà lẹ́yìn tí mo ti ṣàlàyé rẹ̀.

For you have deprived yourselves of picking the delicacies.

Nítorí ẹ ti dènà ara yín láti gbà àwọn ohun ìfẹ́.
