الْمَقَامَةُ السنجارية

And cut the rope of care.

Ó sì gé okun ìtọju.

He said: He began to seek flattery and submission.

Ó sọ pé: Ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í wá ìyìn àti ìfọwọ́sí.

And intercession to me through those of status.

Ati àdúrà sí mi nípasẹ̀ àwọn ẹni tí ó ní ipo.

And I had made it difficult for myself.

Ati mo ti ṣe é nira fún ara mi.

That my familiarity would not return him.

Wí pé ìmọ̀ mi kò ní mú un padà.

Or my past would not return to me.

Tabi pé àná mi kò ní padà sí mi.

So he had nothing from me but rejection.

Nítorí náà, kò ní nnkan kan láti ọ̀dọ̀ mi bí kò ṣe ìkìlọ̀.

And insistence on rejection.

Ati ìfaradà nípa ìkìlọ̀.

And he does not grieve from the success.

Ati kò bínú láti inú àṣeyọrí.

Nor does he tire from the impudence of the face.

Tabi ó kànra láti inú ìbáwí ojú.
