الْمَقَامَةُ الْنصيبية

Àti pé ọgbà náà ti dàgbà.

Ó sọ pé: Ìròlẹ̀ ti tẹ́ àwọn ọ̀run mọ́lẹ̀.

And tempted the eyelids.

Àti pé ó ti ń fa àwọn ìpenpeju

It is a fierce opponent.

Ó jẹ́ ọ̀tá tó le.

And an unavoidable matter.

Àti pé ó jẹ́ ohun tó kò lè yàgò fún.

So connect its rope with a nap.

Nítorí náà, so okun rẹ̀ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú ìsinmi ọ̀sán.

And follow the transmitted traditions in it.

Àti pé ẹ tẹ̀lé àwọn àṣà tó ti kọjá nínú rẹ̀.

The narrator said: So we followed what he said.

Olùsọ̀rọ̀ náà sọ pé: Nítorí náà, a tẹ̀lé ohun tí ó sọ.

And we rested and spoke.

Àti pé a sinmi, a sì sọ̀rọ̀.

So God cast sleep upon our ears.
