And my hand controlled what they had acquired, despite their resistance.
Ọwọ́ mi sì ṣàkóso ohun tí wọ́n ti ní, láìka ìdíwọ́ wọn.
Then I turned away with sweet spoils, freely and abundantly.
Lẹ́hìn náà, mo yí padà pẹ̀lú àwọn èrè dídùn, nífẹ̀ẹ́ àti lọ́pọ̀lọpọ̀.
And often I left behind a wounded heart wandering.
Àti pé mo ti fi ọkàn tí ó ti gbọ́gbẹ́ sílẹ̀ lẹ́hìn tí ó ń rìn kiri.
And I struck down the lords of couches, palaces, and curtains.
Mo sì kọlu àwọn olúwa àwọn àga, àwọn ilé ọba, àti àwọn aṣọ ìbòjú.
And how often I achieved with my cunning what swords could not.
Àti pé mo ti ṣàṣeyọrí pẹ̀lú ọgbọ́n mi ní ohun tí àwọn idà kò lè ṣàṣeyọrí.
And I stood in terror where lions fear to stand.
Mo dúró ní ibi ìbẹ̀rù níbi tí àwọn kìnnìún ń bẹ̀rù láti dúró.
And how often I shed blood, destroyed, and violated the sanctity of pride.
Àti pé mo ti ta ẹ̀jẹ̀, pa, àti fọ́ ìbòjú ìgbéraga.
And how many destructive leaps I made in sins and how many light steps.
Àti pé mèló mèló ìgbésẹ apanirun nínú ẹṣẹ, àti àwọn ìgbésẹ̀ fẹ́ẹ́rẹ́fẹ́.
But I have prepared good thoughts of the compassionate Lord.
Ṣùgbọ́n mo ti pèsè àwọn èrò rere fún Olúwa aláàánú.
He said: When he reached this verse, he persisted in weeping and clung to seeking forgiveness.
Ó sọ pé: Nígbà tí ó dé ẹsẹ̀ yìí, ó tẹ̀ síwájú nínú ẹkún àti nígbigbá àdúrà fún ìdáríjì.
