الْمَقَامَةُ الرقطاء

Whoever follows his path succeeds and prevails.

Ẹni tí ó tẹ̀lé ọ̀nà rẹ̀ tí ṣe àṣeyọrí Ó sì ti ṣẹ́gun.

The merchant at his door makes profits and captivates.

Ọlọ́jà tí ó wà ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà rẹ̀ jèrè pẹlú sì ṣe ẹ̀tan.

He refrains from oppressing the innocent and is free from the stain of the misguided.

Ó dáwọ́ láti fi àwọn aláìmọ̀ jẹ́ iyà àti pé ó jẹ́ mímọ́ láti èrò burúkú.

And his gentleness was coupled with honor.

Ati pe ìwà pẹ̀lẹ́ rẹ̀ wà pẹ̀lú ọlá.

And he avoided the path of harshness.

Ó sì yà kúrò ní ọ̀nà ìkà.

He is not one to leap at an opportunity for evil.

Kò jẹ́ ẹni tí yóò gbìyànjú láti ṣe ibi.

Rather, he maintains the purity of righteousness.

Ṣùgbọ́n, ó ń ṣe mímọ́ ti ìwà ire.

Therefore, his purity is loved and deserves passion, for his essence is captivating.

Nítorí náà, ìwà mímọ́ rẹ̀ jẹ́ ẹni tí a fẹ́ràn, ó sì yẹ fún ìfẹ́, nítorí pé ìwà rẹ̀ ń fá àwọn ẹ̀dá mọra.

His morals are noble and refined, and his superiority is evident when you contend with him.

Ìwà rẹ̀ jẹ́ ẹni tí ó ga, ó sì dára, ìgbéga rẹ̀ sì han gbangba nígbà tí o bá bá a jà.

He is gentle and cheerful, and forgiving if a friend errs, never doubting his right.

Ó jẹ́ ẹni tí ó rọrùn, ó sì ń yọ, ó sì máa ń dárí jì nígbà tí ọ̀rẹ́ bá ṣe aṣiṣe, kò sì ní ṣiyèméjì nípa ẹ̀tọ́ rẹ̀.
