Then emerged an elder whose stature had been bent by days and nights (time).
Nígbà náà ni àgbàlagbà kan tí àkókò ojúmọ́ pẹlú aṣálẹ ti tẹ́ ẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀ jáde.
Whose mornings and evenings had lighted his (Thugamat) face.
Ti owurọ pẹlu irọlẹ ti tán ìmọ́lẹ̀ sí ojú rẹ̀.
The group rejoiced at his arrival.
Ẹgbẹ́ náà yọ̀ nígbà tí ó dé.
And hurried to greet him.
Wọ́n sì yara láti kí í.
When he sat on his mat.
Nígbà tí ó jókòó sórí ẹní rẹ̀.
The noise quieted due to his presence.
Àríyá náà dákẹ́ nítorí wìwà rẹ̀ láàyè náà.
He approached his seat.
Ó sún mọ́ àga rẹ̀.
And stroked his beard with his hand.
Ó sì fọwọ́ rẹ̀ pá irungbọ̀n rẹ̀.
Then he said: Praise be to Allah, the initiator of grace.
Lẹ́yìn náà ó sọ pé: Ògo ni fún Allah, ẹni tí ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ pẹlú ọ̀lá.
The creator of blessings.
Ẹni tí ó dá àánú.
