الْمَقَامَةُ الصُّورِيَّةُ

He offered her a dowry of a sack and a staff.

Ó fún un ní ẹ̀bùn ìgbéyàwó ni tí àpò àti ọ̀pá.

Together with a scarf and a jar.

Pẹlú ìbòrí àti kòndò omí

So marry him off with a marriage like his.

Nítorí náà, fún un ní ìgbéyàwó bí ti ẹ̀.

And join your rope with his rope.

Ẹ so okun yin pọ̀ mọ́ ti ẹ̀.

And if you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you from His bounty.

Bí ẹ bá bẹ̀rù ìyà, Allah yóò fún yín ní ọlá láti inú àánú rẹ̀.

I say my words and seek Allah's forgiveness for myself and for you.

Mo sọ ọ̀rọ̀ mi, mo sì bẹ̀ Allah fún ìdáríjì fún ara mi àti fún yín.

And I ask Him to increase your offspring on the benches.

Mo sì bẹ̀ ẹ̀ pé kí ó pọ̀ àwọn ọmọ yín lórí àpótí.

And to protect your unity from harm.

Àti láti dáàbò bo ìṣọ̀kan yín kúrò nínú ìjàmbá.

When the elder finished his sermon.

Nígbà tí àgbàlagbà náà parí ìwàásù rẹ̀.

And sealed the marriage contract and presented it to the bride's relative.

Ó sì fi ìwé ìgbéyàwó fún ẹbí ìyàwó náà
