الْمَقَامَةُ الْوبرية

Nor did he care for my distress.

Kò sì fiyè sí ìbànújẹ́ mi.

Rather, he continued on his way.

Dípò náà, ó tẹ̀ síwájú lórí ọ̀nà rẹ̀.

And struck me with the arrow of his disdain.

Ó sì gbá mi pẹ̀lú ọ̀fà ìkórìíra rẹ̀.

So I hastened to him to seek his company by mounting at his back.

Nítorí náà, mo yara lọ bá láti bèèrè fún jijoko lẹyìn rẹ.

And to endure his arrogance.

Àti láti fara da ìgbéraga rẹ̀.

When I finally reached him after much effort.

Nigbati mo dé ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ lẹ́yìn ìsapá púpọ̀.

And examined him closely.

Mo sì wo ọ́ pẹ̀lú pẹlẹ pẹlẹ.

I found my camel to be his mount.

Mo rí pé Ràkúnmí mi ni Ó gùn.

And my lost property to be his find.

Àti pé ohun tí mo sọnù ni ó rí.

Without hesitation, I threw him off its hump back.
