الْمَقَامَةُ الْمغربية

Ó sì jẹ́ ojúṣe mi láti ṣètò òrùka méje

My thoughts continued to shape and break.

Èrò mi ń bá a lọ láti dá, o sì tún kọsẹ.

And to enrich and make difficult.

Àti láti mú kí ó rọrùn àti ṣùgbọ́n ó ń ṣòro.

And in the midst of that, I sought food (guidance).

Nínú gbogbo èyí, mo ń wá oúnjẹ (itọka).

But I found no one to feed me.

Ṣùgbọ́n mi ò rí ẹnikẹ́ni tí yóò fún mi ní oúnjẹ.

Until the breeze settled.

Títí tí afẹ́fẹ́ fi balẹ̀.

And submission became clear.

Àti pé ìtẹ̀wọ́gbà di kedere.

So I said to my companions: If Saruji present in this place.

Nítorí náà, mo sọ fún àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ mi pé: Bí Sarújì bá wà ní ibi yìí.

He would have cured the incurable disease.

Yóò tí ṣe ìwòsàn fún àìsàn tí kò ṣe wò.

They said: If this descended upon Iyās, it would have been withheld from despair.

Wọn sọ pé: Bí èyí bá ṣe wí pé ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí Iyās, yóò ti dúró lórí ìbànújẹ́.
