الْمَقَامَةُ الْنصيبية

His young servant appeared to us.

Ẹrú rẹ̀ tó jẹ́ ọmọde farahàn wa.

With his lips slightly parted.

Pẹ̀lú ètè rẹ méjèèjì rẹ̀ tó ṣí díẹ̀.

We inquired about the elder's condition in his illness.

A béèrè nípa ipo àgbàlagbà náà nígbà àìsàn rẹ̀.

And the essence of his movements' strength.

Àti pé pàápàá agbára ìrìn rẹ̀.

He said: He was in the grip of illness.

Ó sọ pé: Ó wà ní ìkà àìsàn.

And the struggle of the ailment.

Àti ìjàkadì àìsàn náà.

Until the chronic illness weakened him.

Títí tí àìsàn tó pẹ́ fi mú kí ó rẹ̀.

And the damage almost consumed him.

Àti pé ìparun náà fẹrẹ́ jẹ́ ẹ́.

Then God Almighty strengthened his veins.

Lẹ́yìn náà, Ọlọ́run Olódùmarè fún un ní agbára nínú ẹ̀mí rẹ̀.

So he recovered from his fainting.

Nítorí náà, ó padà láti inú dìdaku rẹ̀.
